Heather Hedin Peacock graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1994 with a degree in illustration. She continued to study painting at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and the Wayne Art Center. She paints primarily in acrylics, finding inspiration in beautiful landscape from Pennsylvania to coastal Maine and beyond.
In regards to her art, she says “Just as everyday life takes my focus in many different directions, my acrylic paintings are an expression of that same interest in varied subjects and a desire to depict them in a representational manner that still reflects the world as I see it- bold, colorful and beautiful.
“I am drawn to images with strong light, deep shadows and brilliant color which add a deeper level of beauty to the already picturesque scenes I encounter but also bring beauty and worth to the more simple and mundane.
“For me, my art is very much about loving the process of painting and seeing a piece come to completion. My paintings are not flamboyant, mysterious, trendy or shocking but simply a naturalistic depiction of life that I hope many viewers will be able to connect with and enjoy.”
